well im gettin a cel code 6 which i believe is a cooling issue. she smokes a lil too could it be cuz of the exhaust system? its a strait pipe setup for now until i need inspection. also w?tf did my brake & blinker light fuse blow!?!? thats fuse #2 that goes out on me could it be a bigger problem. do the seat rails change after the 89 models, or do i have to get si rails. the ones i got came off a 91 dx

I believe the rails changed in 89 for the DX and Si CRX's and in 90 for the HF. In 88 all CRX's had pillar mounted seat belts and in 89 the DX and Si went to a door mount belt.

I think this stands true for the hatches as well but I could be wrong.

CEL 6 is Coolant Temperature. If the gauge isn't reading to high you may have a bad sensor or thermostat.

As for the smoke I doubt that changing the exhaust would cause it. How much smoke is it and what color (if any) is it?

And the fuse well, in the years that I did Car Audio you'd be surprised how many fuses blew that had nothing to do with anything we were touching in the car. Best bet is to just replace the fuse and see if it blows again. If it does then you may have a issue, if not, then it was probably just a old worn out fuse.

my 89 si doesnt have a door mount seat belt. where can i find, mounts for my seats i can use the sparco ones, if i didnt have to pay sparco prices it'd be nice so if there are any good finds lemme know.

Its white smoke which i know could be bad, but the only time it smokes is when i let go of the gas and then give it gas again. i think it from when it got stolen. the took out the radiator then drove it some where, it probally over heated and f-ckd up my head gasket.

there is something way wrong my #8 fuse (corner light brake and dash light)the plugs gets extremely hot and melts my fuse...i dont think its something i did when i was checking my fuses i noticed there was burn marks around what the fuse terminals plug into, i figured one of the fuses popped before but i know why its like that now, but donno y

89 Si without door belts? Must be a early production year model as my 89 Si does have them. Hope you find a good deal on the rails, I'll keep my eyes peeled.

If the smoke isn't too bad and you're planning on swapping, I wouldn't worry too much with it. If you plan on staying with that motor awhile, I'd pull the head and check for warpage. And replace the head gasket as well while in there.

The fuse thing, looks like you have a pretty bad fault in the wire, likely pinched and directly touching the body of the car. Get yourself a digital multimeter and test resistance to ground on that fuse position to verify.

By chance when you installed the skunk2's did you remove and then later reinstall the inner fender liner? If so you may want to check that you didn't catch the front bumper lamp harness in there.

yea i think ima go ahead and replace the headgasket, its probally f-cked from when they drove w/o a radiator. ima have my electrical guy check it out for me. its gotta be when the original owners put in there audio.

i ordered a sparco base yesturday $100 that brings total spending up to aprox. $900 including cost of the car.

Ah, most likely they cut the factory harness and hardwired the radio in. Probably left the red/black loose and it's grounding out somewhere back there.

Good luck on getting everything fixed.

guys....dudes...bros, WThell can i do about this CEL code 6 its etc (not sure) I Kno its engine coolant sensor. its weird my car over heats but it does it as if it gets mad at me from time to time about once a month (spuratically) and all i have to do is pull over let it cool down and i start it up and vuala it works like new Confused
