now that I have my tow-behind trailer almost to the point that I'm happy with it, I find myself wishing for a way to not drive the car to/from the track.
I'm curious what anyone uses for a tow vehicle and their opinions of a setup I have in mind.
DC2 with B20, upgraded brakes, towing a dolly with electric brakes.
the DC2 could be a CRV.
Yes I know when I get this I'll be wishing for a full trailer setup...
granted this is all a pipe dream, I have no money to do any of this, but it's fun to dream. _________________ help support e-hatch --> http://www.e-hatch.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1992 |

What about wear and tear on the engine and transmission of the tow vehicle since it was never designed to tow in the first place.

B20's are cheap and relitivly easy to find.
trans, stock honda trans's are really difficult to kill unless you really try to kill it. (manual trans)
clutch, that's my main concern.
I do agree, a larger vehicle designed to tow would be best. But that's really not in my budget, so I'm trying to put together a plus/minus list on the more affordable options to see if I could live with it.
And I know in the long run swapping clutches and eventually engines is going to out weigh the larger vehicle cost but I'm talking 7-8 events a year, mostly highway. _________________ help support e-hatch --> http://www.e-hatch.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1992 |
