lol i hope so, thats heavy for any carbon hood.

But ive never been one of those carbon freaks. To me its just the new rice. The old rice is slowly fading and now all the 15-18 year old kids throw carbon on their cars. along with their other junk lol.

Carbon walls would be cool, but only for 1 room. shiet gets hot.

see why bring the rice into your humble abode too lol. Isnt it bad enough on the car.

I mean if its actually there for a purpose yeah sure, but kids with cf door sills, cf dash, cf w/e else in your car is dumb. If you want to race and loose weight, take out the interior and leave only whats needed. The whole 4 ounces you save having cf sills over plastic lol not even saying anything else.
cf= new rice

What happens when you cannot remove anything else of the interior? Start getting Carbon Fiber.

What happens if you want to keep your interior to be able to race on the street class? Start getting carbon fiber.

Carbon Fiber doors are extemely light compared to the stock ones.

So Carbon Fiber is NOT the new RICE.
Some people say JDM is the new RICE.
Does it matter? No, because it is functional.

And if Carbon Fiber is Rice to you then I guess I am a Ricer in from your point of view.

CarbonEG I personally think if your car is intended for more then just the track your taking the CF a lil far. Fenders, doors. Your fucked if someone hits you or you crash.

Originally my intentions to build a show car/track car. Now that I have another EG I decided to make my white hatch a full blown track car, so I am aware of the consequences, If I get on an accident I will have to buy new body parts and what ever else get damaged but I think positive so I don't ever think about crashing. Trust me I will have every safety feature that I can have. Thanks for the heads up though, I will just have to take extra precaution.

Well for a track car i would prolly do it also. i thought it was a DD when i was talking safety. Of course i would take the safety percasions(sp) to.

It all depends on where you live for track racing. Some tracks you have to have 4pt or higher harness and helmet to even run. Some you need helmet only if under 13s. etc. Where I live now at our track you only need helmet if t-tops are off or convt. and if you are faster then like 12.5 you have to have like 6pt cage and under 11s you need like 8pt or bigger.

Where im moving you must where a helmet no matter your et which to me sucks cuz I dont run faster then a 16

Yeah, I know what you are saying. I am really big when it comes to safety so I'll be prepared. There is a few tracks in Florida and most require helmets so I'll be wearing one, and believe me I'll be strapped on some Takata's Very Happy when I am racing. I am still debating over what seat to get but just to piss you off I'll get the Bride Gias, lol.

sorry but i didnt say CF doors. I said CF door SILLS, yeah that **** kids put down there... Yeah no **** doors weigh less. But its the little **** that they add or change to cf. after all that small stuff, you saved what 3 pounds, and thats pushing it.

I just think people take cf way over the edge.

If you want full blown race, then get the one peice front end, problem solved. Gut your doors and skin them. completely cut out everything from inside the car. theres your race car.

For DD, a hood and hatch is plenty. doors, hood, fenders, hatch is overboard. why not get a cf roof and q-panels?? at least then it would all match.

You're not gonna save TOO much on the mirrors since they're already plastic and the heavy bits are the glass. If you have power mirrors, it's better just to go manual on one side and use the passenger mirror delete (I have one woohoo).

The best way to save weight on a spoiler is to have no spoiler Laughing but the Spoon CF is lighter than stock if that's what youre looking for...but not by much, youd be saving a few pounds at best for a few hundred dollars. A hood will save you almost 20 pounds, which is the best bang for the buck CF wise. The hatch really isnt worth it if youre going to put the mechanisms back in...thats the stuff that weighs a lot...youd be saving only 5 lbs max wiht the hatch if you retain its functionality.

Before I bothered getting a CF spoiler and hatch, i'd just swap out my rear windows to Lexan...that will save you in the 10's of pounds, some large number between 20-50 I can't recall.

Oh and my EG hood argument...yes...stock OEM hood is about 35 lbs and aftermarket CF are considerably less Wink

By the way the Spoon mirrors are not only to reduce weight but also to reduce drag.
