Already plannin for a swap
yup a 92-93 ls motor
ive never swapped a 4th gen b4
so wat would i need :

TRANNY:im guessing since the 4th gen hatchys have the cable trannys . that the 90-93 ls tranny would work (correct me if im wrong)
SHIFT LINKAGE: is the stock ls linkage good ?
or what is best to do ??

WIRING: I read somewere b4 tha obd1 wiring harness is needed... is it really needed..
or can i do some wiring on my own instead of paying the $250
MOTOR WIRING:is the ls motor wire harness any good or what ? help
ECU: the ls ecu ? or ...
ummm i guess thats pretty much it!!
if theres anything else any pointers or watever i missed please put it out there>>>
thanx

(pix coming soon to computers near you !!!)

Tranny - You got it mostly right, any b series cable trans will work (ls, gs, gsr, jdm...)

I don't think the stock ls linkage will work as it's a bit too long. You can either modify a ls linkage, or get the hasport one.

I think the obd-1 harness would only be needed if it's a obd-1 motor. You will have to modify the harness no matter what. If you're comfortable with wiring, give it a shot, if not, buy a predone one.

Definately the ls ecu.

Last thing, but probably most important. Mounts. You'll need em.

Your Civic is a DX right? If so that should mean you've got the DPFI motor in there right now. You're going to have to do the DPFI to MPFI conversion on your car, once that's done it should be plug and play if the motor is obd-0.

Here's a good walkthrough for that.
http://www.gutterslide.com/fourthgenhatch_mirror/mpfi.html

If it's a obd-1 motor though (I can never remember when the teg's changed over) then I would recommend getting a conversion harness if you haven't done engine wiring before. To me, a few hundred bucks is worth knowing the wiring is done right and I'm not going to be stuck without a car till I figure out the problem.

yay, good luck on your first swap! Its deffinelty easier than I thought at first too. If you study it, its rather simple when it comes to actually doing the swap. I found the hardest part (dont ask why) was getting the rear mount put in and out. good luck mang.
