Hello guys needs some advice. i have recently swapped out the rear drums on my eg w/ rear DA integra Disc and upgraded my fronts brakes to 95' Civic Ex (complete front knuckle). i've also swapped my prop. valve to a 40/40 from an integra. i have bleed the brakes twice already but i still have a slushy brake pedal. I am still running the stock vx. MC and brake booster, is this a prob? do i need an integra MC/Booster? i've read somewhere that using a 91 Civic Ex MC will helpout and it will also bolt directly to my stock booster.. any ideas?

you don't "need" to upgrade the MS, but it's recommended if you'd like to raise the pedal a little.

the 91 Civic Ex MC will bump you up to the 15/16" MS with your stock BB.

about the extreme difficulty bleeding, it's not unheard of.
I ran through 8 pints of Motul (~$7/pint) before I gave up.
After driving it for a week the pedal firmed up and I've had no problem since.
I know some will say I was obviously doing something wrong, but trust me I wasn't. I've bled over 20 cars with zero problems. Mine is simply one of those that has to work the bubble out on it's own.

thanks for the help guys... i think i'll try to bleed the lines some more. I would like to keep my stock BB and use a 91 EX MC, will this yield the same outcome as swapping in a integra BB and MC?

the BB will be slightly smaller than the teg, but only noticable if you have the two setups side-by-side.
as far as the MS size, it depends on which teg, some had 7/8", some had 15/16" and some had 1".
I have the 1" and I'm looking to pull down to the 15/16" for better pedal feel rather than the higher pedal position of the 1".

Well i went ahead and picked up a new MC from a 1991 civic Ex 4dr (I work at honda so i got a pretty nice discount).. I bench bleed the MC and installed it onto my stock BB. Everything bolted up perfectly, very easy install. The difference was like night and day! No more mushy pedal! I hardly had to step on the brake pedal, the pedal does not travel very far at all. All in all i'm very satisfied with the results. I feel a lot safer now compared to my stock vx set up. Very Happy
